This long weekend, the Crescent Head Bluewater Fishing Club in conjunction with the Crescent Head Country Club will host their annual fishing tournament with all proceeds going to the Cook family.
The event will see a fishing entertainment package as part of the prizes with all competitors going into the draw for fishing gear and a kayak.
In total there is $4000 in cash and prizes to be won.
"It's normally an annual tournament for members but this time anyone can join in," Crescent Head Country Club Secretary-Manager Colan Ryan said.
Friday June 12 will see members enter from 3-8pm at the Country Club.
Entry fee is $25 for adults and $15 juniors with a discover NSW voucher accepted.
Weigh in for the event will be conducted on Sunday June 14 at 1 o'clock with entertainment from 12:30 and a presentation at 2:30.
All fish must be of legal size, gilled and gutted.
The top prizemoney of $200 in the adult boats is the Snapper while the B&R estuary has a $200 prize for bream.
Hamish Cook was seriously injured following an accident in the water at Crescent Head in January.
He was pulled from the water by his friends before paramedics were called to the scene at Little Nobby.
Cook was conscious when ambulance crews arrived and was winched to safety by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter before being transported to Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The Crescent Head Country Club and the community have rallied together in support of the family, with more fundraising events planned throughout the coming months.
