On a very windy Saturday at the Kempsey Golf Club there was a very large field of 90 players hit off in the 2021 Kempsey Carpet Court 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event.

The day was well supported by a good number of visitors from Frederickton, SWR, Crescent Head, Wauchope & Toronto golf clubs along with the regular members of the club.
A very big thank you goes to the team at Carpet Court for there sponsorship of the day and again to all the volunteers who have been busy on the course along with our greens staff.
It doesn't happen very often but it did on Saturday when Josh Swan won for the 2nd week in a row.
Swan continues to play well after his victory the week before in the 'C' grade and this week won with a very good score of 40 points to have a 4 point margin over his nearest rival Mark Dwyer who show some good form to record a score of 36 points.
In the top grade this week our 2021 Junior champion Carlin Dunbar-Rudd was the winner on the day with a fine round of 36 points in the windy conditions.
With a score of 35 points on a countback Craig Dickinson was the runner up.
Jared Fuller from the Crescent Head club was this weeks winner in the 'B' grade with a round of 39 points.
Fuller had quite a day out, going from the a winner on the course to making his long awaited rugby union comeback for the Cannonballs reserve grade side in the afternoon.
Veteran Kevin Hopping continues to play well and with his score of 36 points was the runner up.
The winners of the ntp's at the 3rd hole on Saturday were Glen Tuckwell 'A', Shane Holten 'B', Ron Ingall 'C'.
On the 8th hole the winners were Fuller 'B' & Firey Tehan 'C'. Brody Clarke 'A', Michael Fyffe 'B', Bert Quinlan 'C' were the winners at the 11th hole while at the 16th the winners were Steve Ahern 'A', Neville Jackson 'B' & Cassie Black 'L'.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 32 points and better and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Saturday at the Kempsey Gold Club is a very special day when the members will be out to play in the Dick Hilliard Memorial golf day.
The event will be a 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event and all the players wishing to play can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round and for more information about the upcoming events please give the club a call.
The day is to remember Dick who was a very proud member of the club and a long time player and a real character of the club.
A reminder to all players on the day that you must all obey the COVID19 rules at the club and please wear your mask in the club.
A reminder to all members that the Qualifying round for the 2021 Keno Ambrose event will be held on Saturday July 24.
This event is for the pairing of men, ladies & mixed and it will be 18 hole 2 person Ambrose event on the day with a $5 entry fee for those players wishing to participate in the Keno Event.
