With the COVID19 lockdown still upon us all, last Saturday at the Kempsey Golf Club saw a good number of members and visitors getting their weekly exercise with a quick walk around the 18 holes.
The field of 105 players took part in the 18 hole Single Stableford event and the players on the day did the right thing with obeying all the COVID19 rules.
A big thank you goes to the green staff for the condition of the course which was really good.
Playing in groups of two the Stableford event did see some very good scores in each grade on the day and leading the way in the top grade was David Welsh with an outstanding round of 43 points to claim his first victory in a number of rounds.
Back in form and playing well Mark Morrison was awarded the runner up spot in the top grade after his round of 41.
Improving his game each week Richard Campbell junior was the 'B' Grade winner this week with a score of 37 on a count-back from Col Kesby also with 37.
A fairly new member to the club Reg Gendron took out out the 'C' grade this week in fine style with a round of 40.
Sue Greenup from SWR found the course in tip top condition for her round of 39 points as the runner up in 'C' grade.
Congratulations to all the winners this week and please check your handicap before you hit off in Saturday's event.

This week's winner of the super tee ntp on the par 4 18th hole for the best 2nd shot to the green was won by Mark Morrison.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 34 points on a count back and better and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
The members at the Kempsey Golf Club Saturday will again be playing in groups of two in the 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event with all players reminded to book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round.
Again the COVID19 rules will be in place and the club asked all players to please obey them and to wear your mask while at the club at all times.
Hopefully everyone will be safe in the coming weeks and we can get back to golf as usual.
Unfortunately the 2021 Harry Richardson Pennants has been cancelled for this year due to the lockdown and the COVID19 rules which apply right now.
A big thank you goes to everyone who intending on playing and let's hope it's a goer next.
For more information about the upcoming events at the club or any event please give the club a call anytime.
