Matches have been on hold since the first statewide lockdown in August and league officials are nervously waiting for a possible lift of the current restrictions after September 10, according to league president Geoff Connor.
Mr Connor said the league is caught between a rock and a hard place as they try to wrap up the season finals before the NSW Rugby League deadline of October 31.
"If the lockdowns are extended after September 10 we won't have time to complete the season. At this stage we are waiting to see what happens when the current lockdown ends," he said.
"Even if the lockdown ends soon, clubs haven't trained for a month now and they will need at least a week or two weeks to train before finals.
"We'll have to wait and see what happens."
Beechwood Shamrocks currently hold the minor-premiers position with 32 points heading into the postponed finals series. They're ahead of Long Flat Dragons on 27 points, Lower Macleay Magpies on 24 and Kendall Blues on 22.
South West Rocks, Comboyne hold the middle of the pack with Laurieton, Lake Cathie and Harrington at the bottom of the ladder.
Mr Connor said it would be disappointing for teams and officials to crown any team based on season wins to date.
"We will have to have a meeting about how to decide a winner and NSWRL will have some input in that. It could potentially be decided by a first past the post system but we haven't come across this issue before," he said.
"I know all clubs are keen to play. We have got to finish before October 31 and it's become a flipping disaster to be honest."
Hastings League officials are still awaiting deliberation on an off-field incident which occurred at a match on August 7.
