The total number of active cases in the region remains at seven with three cases in Kempsey and four cases in Coffs Harbour.

The Kempsey cases forced the local government area back into a snap seven-day lockdown which commenced at 5pm Tuesday, September 21.

Port Macquarie Airport and two businesses in Nambucca Heads have been listed as venues of concern after two other confirmed cases of COVID-19 visited the region separately.

These venues of concern are not related to any of the current cases at Coffs Harbour and Kempsey.

There have been 13 cases reported in the MNCLHD since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.

In the Hunter-New England Health District, one new case was reported in the Mid Coast local government area overnight on Saturday. This brings the total number of cases in the Mid Coast local government area to three.

One case is in Possum Brush and two are in Darawank near Forster. All family members of the Darawank cases have been transferred to a health isolation facility.

Across NSW, there were 961 new cases to 8pm Saturday and nine more people died.

NSW reached a milestone 85 per cent first dose vaccination rate.

Almost 60 per cent of the state has received both doses.

The NSW roadmap out of lockdown will be triggered when the state reaches its 70 per cent double vaccination target.

"Please hold the line. It's really important we work hard now," Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.

People who are fully vaccinated can attend an outdoor gathering of up to five people for exercise or outdoor recreation, as long as all of those aged 16 or older are fully vaccinated.

To determine the extent of the risk and detect any further potential COVID-19 cases in the area, the MNCLHD is calling on the communities to come forward for testing in large numbers.

Kempsey commenced a seven-day lockdown at 5pm, Tuesday 21 September. Cases numbers will determine the outcome of a review after this seven days is complete.

MNCLHD is operating a walk-in Pfizer vaccination clinic at Kempsey District Hospital today, Sunday September 26, from 10am to 2pm.

COVID-19 vaccination is available through GPs, pharmacies, respiratory clinics and Aboriginal Medical Services, along with MNCLHD clinics and hubs.
