Despite the seven-day lockdown last week the members and visitors at Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday took full advantage of the weather to get some much needed exercise.

The players on the day took to the fairways for the 18 hole medley single stableford event and with a very good field of 125 players the scores in all three grades were again very good.
With the players going off in groups of two to obey the COVID-19 rules, the club was very pleased to see everyone obeying the rules on the day and staying safe at all times.
Again a big thank you goes to all the volunteers and to the green staff for a wonderful job on the course during the week.
Taking out the top grade on Saturday with a score of 40 points was David Griffin after a very solid round, while junior Carlin Dunbar-Rudd continues to improve his game and with a score of 39 points was awarded the runner up prize.
Craig Parker from the Frederickton club was placed third after his round of 38 points on a count-back.
Josh Swan who has been playing well lately and joined the 'B' grade ranks was awarded the winners prize this week after his round of 41 points.
Daniel Traynor, also from Frederickton, played well for his round of 38 points on a count-back was the runner up from Paul McGregor, who is also from Frederickton, as the third place getter on the day.
Taking out his first victory at the club since joining was Tom Rootes in the 'C' grade with a very good round of 43 points which was again on a countback from Jackson Korn also with 43 points.
Both players are reminded to check their handicaps before hitting off on Saturday.
Harry Mainey returned to golf on Saturday after his football commitments were over and had a round of 38 points on a countback for third place.
Taking out the ntp's at the 3rd hole on Saturday were Michael Flanders 'A' , Tony May 'B', Pat Preston 'C' & Jenny Preston 'L'.
At the 8th hole the winners on Saturday were Ray Emery 'A', Paul McGregor 'B', Cosette Black 'L'.
On the 11th hole winners were Kevin Hopping 'A', Malcolm Blanch 'B', Jackson Korn 'C'.
At the tough 16th hole the winners were Brody (coat) Clarke 'A', Stuart Phillips 'B', Caleb Foran 'C' & Black 'L'.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 34 points on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Tomorrow at the club will see the members play in the 18 hole Medley Single Stroke event for the Monthly Medals in each grade and the day will also be the 2021 Dunghutti Open Day.

A reminder to all players that the 2021 Dyet Family Memorial Golf Day will be held at the Kempsey Golf Club on Saturday October 9 as an 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event.
Please book in now at the club or contact the club for more information about the event which will see a large number of prizes up for grabs on the day.
The event will be held in mens and ladies stableford events plus ntp's and long drive prizes.
