Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service has partnered with Mid North Coast Lower Health District to bring a pop up vaccination tent to Kempsey this Saturday October 2.

The day will be part of a community collaboration between MNCLHD, Mid North Coast Police District, Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service, Men at Work and Transport NSW.

The pop up clinic will be situated at the Dunghutti Elders Council 17-23 South Street, South Kempsey between 9.30am and 4pm.

There is no need to book appointments as this is a walk-in clinic.

Residents are asked to bring their Medicare card and a photo identification card.

All Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community members are welcome to attend the clinic.

Pfizer will be available for 12 years and over.

"There will be three buses picking up people in vulnerable parts of the community," Durri ACMS deputy chief executive officer Narelle Cochrane explained.

Those areas will include Aldavilla, Euroka, South, West and East Kempsey among others.

Bus routes are listed on Durri's Facebook page.

"The large warehouse at Dunghutti Elders will help us accommodate everybody with Men at Work helping us marshall the parking area," Ms Cochrane said.

"The whole idea of this community collaboration approach is so we can lift the vaccination rates, not only in the Aboriginal community but in the whole community.

"The Super Saturday vaccination blitz is for all the community, people can come for their first jab or if they are due for the second.

"We'll have health professionals who have been in Kempsey for twenty to thirty years and have a great rapport with the Aboriginal community.

"If there's hesitancy they're there to provide advice and answer any medical questions."

Kempsey Shire Council mayor Liz Campbell was delighted to see different organisations co-operating to boost the vaccination rate in the Kempsey LGA.

"It's fantastic that Durri are working with the community," she said.

"For people to be able to go there, connect with different organisations and people and get their vaccine is really good."
