After being awarded a $30,000 grant to build a new trail from the Kempsey Shire Council, as a part of the State government's bush fire recovery program, the club reached out to the public for name suggestions.
The only criteria is that the name must represent or demonstrate recognition of the Black Summer bushfires.
"We didn't want it to be open to any name at all, we wanted to really reflect where the money has come from, and that's why we said the criteria needs to do with the bushfire recovery," said club secretary, Sara Gambaro.
"It has to be a name that provides memory of the event that occurred, and from that a good thing has come."
Names in the running are strictly confidential, as the members now need to vote for their favourite.
The trail is planned to have banked turns, rolling terrain, maybe a few jumps and will be suitable for a wide range of riders.
Flow Trails are wildly popular amongst riders, with Ms Gambaro calling them "the ultimate trail for mountain bikers".
The contractor in charge of the trail is East Coast Mountain Trails, who were responsible for the hugely popular trails in Dungog. Depending on the weather, the build process will take three to four weeks.
"This has the potential to really boost the area into a mountain biking destination," Ms Gambaro said.
"We are really quite a young club, only three to four years old, but the membership has risen significantly in the last 12 months, not that we are more active, but I really think this flow trail has boosted peoples interest in getting involved."
The trail name will be announced in the coming weeks.
If you are interested in becoming a member, the club organises weekly social rides, as well as cross country and enduro races.
