
On Saturday November 13 the members and visitors to the Kempsey Golf Club played in the 2021 Peter Steffensen 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event with a good field of 83 players hitting off on the day.
In the field on Saturday were visitors from Frederickton, South West Rocks, Massey Park & Strathfield who all praised the condition of the course which was in tip top condition for the event.
A very big thank you goes to Peter for his continued support of golf at the club and again to all the volunteers during the week on the course.
Taking out the top grade on Saturday was Chris Kerr who returned to his best with a round of 37 points to claim the top prize on the day.
Taking out the runner up spot on a countback was David Welsh with his round of 36 points.
Malcolm Blanch was back to his best in the 'B' grade on Saturday with a score of 36 points to win from Troy Ward from the Frederickton club also with 36 points.
In the 'C' grade this week the winner was Andrew Evans also after a countback was done by club officials with a score of 35 points.
Alfred Drew also played well on the day for his score of 35 points as the runner up.
This weeks winner of the super tee ntp on the 18th hole was Kevin Smith who not that long ago claimed his first super tee prize.
Congratulations to Kevin for the best second shot to the green.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 31 points on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event last Saturday.
A big day is planned on Saturday at the club with the staging of the 2021 Indigenous All Stars V The All Stars game.
The 18 hole 2 person Ambrose event is billed as the Clash of the Titans.
The two team captains TJ Smith & Tim Mecham are looking for players for the teams so please give the club a call if you can.
Anyone wishing to play can now book in for the event by giving the club a call or go online to book in for your round and for more information about upcoming events please ring the team at the club.
A reminder that Saturday's event will have a two tee starting time so please check your time before hitting off. All members and visitors to the club are still reminded about the COVID-19 rules at the club.
The Macleay Valley Travel 2021 Kempsey Open Day will be held on Sunday November 27th.
