Nulla KMRSL vs Rovers LJ Hooker:
The first fixture at Jim Stirling Oval on Saturday saw a family affair, as the Dowling name showed its strength with the bat.
Rovers LJ Hooker were first to bat in their match against Nulla KMRSL, and proceedings didn't start too well for the batting side, with opener Pat Brennan run-out on the second ball by Beau Mainey.
The wicket came about after an attempt at a second run and as his father Matt put it, "some may argue it was the health and fitness, some may argue it was a brain explosion, however the majority will argue it was a match-winning dismissal".
The run-out brought cousins Ethan and Lachlan Dowling together with the runs flowing.
Both men went on to combine for a 113-run partnership, with Ethan dismissed for 51 off 38 balls by another family duo - caught by Flynn O'Loughlin off the bowling of Ronan O'Loughlin.
Lachie was next to fall at 3/141 after amassing 80 runs off 62 balls.
Rovers finished their 20 overs 5/151 with O'Loughlin securing the most wickets at 2/39.
Nulla were off to a shaky start in their chase, with opening bowlers Kai Dunbar-Rudd and Scott Witchard claiming both openers with the score 2/11.
Captain Corey Crotty came in at the first wicket and made things difficult for Rovers despite the wickets falling around him.
The skipper raced to a half-century off 37 balls before the man of the moment, Lachie Dowling, clean bowled him.
At 5/87, Nulla continued to chip away at runs but ultimately fell short with 9/137 from their 20 overs.
Dunbar-Rudd (2/16) and Dowling (2/15) were the pick of the bowlers.
Frederickton vs Rovers West Kempsey Hotel:
Kempsey Golf Club hosted its inaugural first grade fixture for the 2021/22 season on Saturday as Frederickton batted first.
An economical Rovers bowling attack proved hard to navigate as the batting side reached 5/91 from their 20 overs.
Top-scorer for Frederickton was Dane Callaghan, with 38 not out while Craig Parker opened for 19 runs.
Rovers kept things tight with Daniel 'Diz' Wade's figures of 2/5 off four overs unheard of in the T/20 format.
In their chase, Rovers were rarely troubled, reaching 4/92 from 15 overs with Mitchell Korn (25*) and Jarrod Prosper (26) the main men.
Nulla KMRSL vs South West Rocks Pilot Station Pizza:
Nulla kicked off their second match with bat in hand and their openers Angus Crotty and Beau Mainey proved tough men to remove as they combined for a 77-run partnership.
Crotty was forced to retire hurt on 40 as the wickets started to come for SWR.
Cooper Schubert (1/29) and Jye Woodger (2/32) were the men providing breakthroughs as Nulla reached 4/142 with Mainey the last wicket to fall, finishing with 69.
As clouds circled, Nulla struck early with the ball with Flynn O'Loughlin removing Myles Bower with the score 1/1.
Mainey (2/21) then came to the party with wickets to make it 3/19 after 4.2 overs.
Jye Woodger (26*) and Leslie Page (22*) joined together for a partnership but rain brought the Duckworth/Lewis method into the equation.
With a required target of 67, SWR reached 3/58 with the win delivered to Nulla.
