In a see-sawing affair, Smithtown led the 'Bandies' 5-3 at half-time.
West Kempsey's J.Keneally was first to open the scoring and make it 3-0 before Smithtown's H.Raison levelled proceedings.
H.Rowsell kicked a goal in front of the posts to make it 5-3 Smithtown's way.
West Kempsey got into gear in the second-half with Keneally scoring again. H. Murphy went on to score a double with R. Debenham converting twice as West Kempsey won 16-5.
Presumably before the match a team photo was taken and now Gladstone resident Chris Halliday wants to correctly identify everyone pictured before donating it to the modern day Smithtown Tigers.
His great uncle Norman Halliday (front row, third from the right) was the likely owner of the photo. Halliday was on the Smithtown Football Club committee before leaving for Sydney to become a haberdasher.
Mr Halliday says he hopes to have identified the following but requires confirmation and additional names; front row from left - Reginald Flanagan, unknown, Les Dunford, Harry Raisin, Norm Halliday, Vince Cannane, unknown. Jack Carroll is centre of the next row. Harry Parsons was allegedly the captain and perhaps why he is the centre of the photo holding the football.
Other players may include P Adams, T Rowe, H Russell, R Judd, L Russell, H Rowsell, T Davis, H Telford.
Mr Halliday says the same photo apparently hung in the barber shop in Main Street, Smithtown for many years.
