Now after many years of being inspired by the pristine locations, the newly announced NVAC artist of the month will showcase her talent in an art show titled "Shelly's to Main"

Working mainly in acrylics and collagraph prints, Keir will present an exhibition of her close investigation of Nambucca beaches from January 5 until January 29 2022 at the Stringer Gallery in the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre on Ridge Street.

"We have many beautiful beaches so close to us," Keir said.

"Like many people who live here, I've enjoyed taking regular walks with my family and friends to unwind and take in the fresh air.

"We have living art all around us and to share my love of beautiful creation is something I really enjoy."

Her daughter Neshamah often accompanies her on beach walks and takes great photos from various viewpoints, which Keir is then able to use as her reference.

While discovering more about her craft, Keir was amazed at the variety of colours in the environment and how light will hit objects at different angles.

She attributes her love of colour and careful investigation of it to a wonderful teacher, Beris Woodrow, who taught in Bundaberg Queensland about 30 years ago.

Along with Keir's exhibition, there are many other paintings to see at the Stringer Gallery in the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre on Ridge Street during the Christmas Holidays.

A member's exhibition "Colours of Summer" will continue until January 29.

The Stringer Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm and Saturday 9.30 am to 12 noon.
