Kempsey’s boxing world champion Renold Quinlan has landed in London ahead of his IBO Super Middleweight title defence against Chris Eubank Junior on February 4.
Quinlan's preparation for the fight hasn’t changed, despite the magnitude of the bout and skill of his opponent increasing.
It will be his first match overseas but the 27-year-old said earlier this month he will have a lot of fans due to Eubank’s arrogance.
“He is arrogant, a lot of people hate him, even from his own country – he has his followers – but there will be a lot of supporters for me in the arena. A lot of people have already got behind me and I will continue to be the people’s champ,” he said.
Both fighters have one loss to their name with Eubank having the superior experience of 24 professional matches compared with Quinlan’s 12.
The Australian knocked out fellow Aussie boxer Daniel Geale to claim the belt and it will be his first title defence.
