Bishop Sarah is making a pilgrimage to all 28 parishes, five schools and other ministry units within the Diocese as part of its centenary celebrations.
The visit to Dorrigo Parish became a community affair with representatives from local schools, other churches and service groups greeting her at a barbeque and bush walk at The Glade.
Bishop Sarah was met by Rector, the Rev. Mike Ridge and members of Dorrigo Parish
Then she was welcomed by the choir from Dorrigo Primary School under the director of Maria Montez.
Ms Montez, who is the school’s language teacher, welcomed Bishop Sarah in French.
She was a little surprised to hear Bishop Sarah respond in fluent French.
The school’s drum ensemble, led by Principal Ms Tanya Bajda, then invited her sit in as part of their performance.
Bishop Sarah accepted the invitation and spent 20 minutes playing with the drummers.
Then it was time to greet guests, enjoy the barbeque food and, finally, spend a leisurely hour walking through parts of Dorrigo National Park.
