Beau travelled to Sydney last week for the presentation of the award at NSW Government House by Governor Marie Bashir.
The John Lincoln awards were created to raise awareness of the importance of the Order of Australia awards system.
Every year 20 young people are chosen from around NSW by a judging panel to receive the award, which was first presented in 1993.
Beau is a student at Kempsey High school, where he is a member of the Student Representative Council.
Beau is also an enthusiastic and talented musician, singer and dancer.
At his own expense he acquired sound and lighting equipment, which he uses at community events such as the Christmas Carols and the Kempsey Show.
He runs free discos for various schools and youth events and is a long-serving member of the Indigo Velvet Choir.
Kempsey High is proud of Beau and his award.
