Strengthened by the return of a couple of their regular players, Kempsey Heights bowled their opponents out for 88 and took just under 12 overs to reach their target.
Captain Scott Witchard paid tribute to his side’s bowlers for setting up the win.
“Obviously the Rocks were missing a couple of players on the day but full credit to our bowlers for restricting them to under 100,” he said.
“Blake Giddy, Daniel Wade and Adam Clay all bowled accurately throughout the innings which put us in a strong position. It is nice to get a win like that early on in the season.”
Despite being a man short for the clash, South West Rocks got off to a positive start after winning the toss and electing to bat first, getting to 0-25 before captain Mark Smee was caught off the bowling of Scott Witchard.
It was to be the biggest partnership of the innings as the middle order succumbed to some accurate bowling from the Heights attack.
Opener Pete Atterton continued to play his shots but could not find steady support at the other end.
Number seven Corey Stocks looked hit a couple of big shots before he was bowled by Adam Clay for ten.
Atterton remained until the end to top score for his side with 31 as they set Kempsey Heights a modest total of 88.
All of the Heights bowlers managed to get at least one wicket with Adam Clay again the chief destroyer with 3-16 off four overs.
In reply the Kempsey Heights opening pair of Scott Witchard and Blake Giddy signalled their intentions early, bringing up their 50 partnership at a rate of more than six runs an over.
South West Rocks bowler Jordy Ryan eventually made the break through when he bowled Witchard for 37 and was unlucky not to have another wicket two over later when a he had a catch dropped off his bowling.
Sean Slatter managed a couple of late wickets but the damage was already done with Kempsey Heights finishing at 3/90 off 11.3 overs.
Blake Giddy was named man of the match.
