Starting mid November we will run a second Bronze squad and we’re calling for interested members of the community to qualify and assist with patrols on the beach.
The surf club caters for the whole family and is a great way to meet others if you are new to the area. Our club has a small but committed team of volunteers and we would like more members to assist with patrols, water safety for Nippers, fundraising and social activities.
Children can start Nippers at five years of age and can stay involved in Surf Lifesaving for many years. Contact Kim Shaw, club registrar on 0404 034-231, for more information about our next Bronze squad, starting soon. If you are at the North Beach Bowling club on a Friday night, don't forget to buy a few tickets in our regular raffle which is a major fundraiser for the club.
Our small but talented group of Nippers have been training hard on Sundays and at board training on Tuesday afternoons. They displayed their skills at the Jetty last week with Keziah Ensby-Green, Ebony Adams and Jayden Dean performing well and gaining top six places at their first carnival. Max Shaw, Liam Nisbet, Oscar Sutton and Patrick Steward all performed strongly in the older age groups. Max won the sprint and flags and gained a top six place in all other events for his age group and Liam won the sprint for his age group. The next carnival is at Woolgoolga on Sunday.
