In a low scoring affair, Kempsey Heights set their opponents a target of 127 before rolling the Rocks for 94 in the 21st over.
Kempsey Heights captain Scott Witchard said he was confident his side would be able to defend the total.
“It was tough to bat out there so we thought 125 would be enough,” he said.
“We took a couple of quick wickets early on which put us in a position where we could close out the match. Adam Clay batted well for us and Daniel Wade managed to fin some rhythm with the ball which was good.”
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Kempsey Heights lost their opening batsmen in quick succession with Stephen Crotty (16) and Troy Ward (12) falling to Jordy Ryan and Keegan Peel respectively.
When captain Scott Witchard was caught in front by Mark Smee for three, the score was 3/41.
Todd Giddy and Adam Clay combined for the 42 run stand to get the innings back on track before the latter was caught off the bowling of Michael Fotheringham for 22.
Clay continued briefly with number six Phil Dowling before he too was out, bowled by Smee for 28.
The South West Rocks bowlers were able to make light work of the lower order to dismiss their opponents for 126.
Captain Brayden Peel lead from the front with 4-10 off seven overs while Jordy Ryan and Mark Smee contribute two wickets each.
In reply, Rocks were put on the back foot early as Heights bowlers Daniel Wade and Witchard ripped through their top and middle orders to leave them reeling at 6/57.
Brayden Peel played a lone hand with 24 runs but his team continued to lose wickets at regular intervals to be dismissed 32 runs short of their target.
Witchard ended up with figures of 3/28 off his seven overs while Wade managed 3/31.
