This was the fifth year the awards have been held and the celebration gets bigger and better every year.
Not even the sweltering heat inside the Oddfellows Hall venue could diminish the enthusiasm for the awards, and the winners who were warmly congratulated by the audience with much applause.
Award winners Teminya Fernando, Margaret Breust, Senior Constable Paula Pelling, Madeline Donovan, Laura Brown and Jenny Sproule were the deserving recipients this year.
They represent a diverse cross-section of the women of the Macleay; in age, experience and background, but one thing unites them.
A desire to help others and improve the lives of the women, and citizens, of the Macleay Valley.
International Women's Day will be celebrated around the world on Sunday. The theme this year is 'Make it Happen'.
