The Kempsey Skin Cancer Clinic run by Dr Ting will also be closing.
Dr Ting will concentrate on his Port Macquarie practice and plans to spend a bit more time with his family.
“It is a sad decision and one I did not like making but it is what I had to do,” Dr Ting said.
“One of the reasons behind my decision is that it has been very difficult to recruit doctors of the right quality to work for me in Kempsey.
“The other main reason is that I still have family in Malaysia and my mother is getting on in years and I would like to be able to visit her more often.
“My children are also busy with things that I would also like to be a part of."
Dr Ting first came to Kempsey 19 years ago and has made a lot of friends in his time in the town.
“It is true some of my patients I have grown to be good friends with and I have watched their families grow up,” he said.
“But as I said my own family has to come first and I just can’t find doctors who I think are suitable so I don’t have much choice.
“On behalf of myself and my staff I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us over the years in Kempsey.”
For patients wishing to transfer their medical records to another practice, a signed authority letter is required and the relevant medical records will be forwarded accordingly.
After the clinic has closed, any request to transfer medical record can still be made by calling 6583 8383 or via email to info@gpclinic.net.au
