Doubles to Evan Clarke and Blake Webster helped put the side over the line in the match with the Wildcats scoring a late consolation goal.
Coach, Jason Fisher, said there was a lot to like about his team’s performance.
“I think it was probably the best game we have had all season,” he said.
“Everyone banded together really well and lifted the intensity when they needed to. Dave Henry and Alex Beckle both made strong debuts for us in the match.”
Evan Clarke got the ball rolling for his side after 20 minutes by tapping in a rebound off a deflected shot to make it 1-0.
The Saints doubled their advantage 15 minutes later when Lachlan Galea was brought down in the box with Blake Webster coolly converting from the spot.
They suffered a blow early in the second half when Jarrod Witheridge received a second yellow card, but it did nothing to dent their confidence with Evan Clarke combining with Lachlan Galea to score the Saints’ third.
Soon after, Webster put the icing on the win with his second goal of the match with the Wildcats only goal coming courtesy of a free kick in the 92nd minute.
The Kempsey Saints will take on Port FC from 3pm at Eden Park tomorrow.
