Featuring some of NSW’s most iconic activities, attractions and other landmarks with the aim of showcasing these top spots to a broad domestic and international audience as well as shedding light on regional locales, the “Bucket List” encompasses the diversity of the state in detailed form.
Compiled from several years of customer feedback, staff input and database polling, the Bucket List covers both experiences in larger urban centres as well as numerous hidden gems in regional NSW.
The Urunga Boardwalk was listed due to it being “widely regarded as one of the most scenic of its kind on the east coast of Australia” and also being “one of NSW’s most underrated and essential highlights.”
The Bucket List serves as a checklist for potential visitors to the state of New South Wales, intermingling a concentration of experiences in Sydney with other essentials in the likes of Byron Bay, Hawkesbury, Bathurst and more.
The list also includes a visual map view for travellers to plan out their future journeys to any of the listed experiences, while conveying a sense of scale of the state of New South Wales that may not otherwise be obvious to the uninitiated.
Experience Oz digital manager Matt Hobbs said: “The Ultimate NSW Bucket List’ is a great opportunity to highlight some of the lesser-known wonders of New South Wales for the local, regional and domestic tourism market to experience, and he hopes it will inspire people to get outside the cities and explore.
“With several years worth of data and feedback on hand – and in response to persistent questions about how to find new things to do in Australia – we put together the Bucket List so that even locals of NSW will find a special part of the state they've never visited before.”
Experiences on the list vary in location from coast to inland, gourmet to adrenaline-filled, which according to Matt, seems an appropriate reflection of our country's, and NSW's specifically, diversity.
“Australia is the land of the green behind the gold and we want to show people – particularly those from abroad - everything our country has to offer including what often doesn't make the big international commercials. At Experience Oz, we have more than three thousand experiences available for people to browse through from all walks of life yet there is still plenty we don't cover as well. We want to encourage people to step outside their region and explore these beautiful destinations in 2015 and beyond,” he said.
