NCPHN in partnership with the Community Drug Action Group, part of CDAT (Coffs Harbour Indigenous Youth) have taken the lead in organising the community forum in light of the impact of methamphetamines on the Aboriginal community and their need for information about the issue.
Expert speakers will present information and data about the use of ice and will talk about the issues surrounding the use of the drug and its impacts on users, their families, the extended family and the community.
Presenters include a local Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Early Intervention worker, a local GP, Aboriginal workers from Bulgarr Ngaru Medical Corporation’s Casino and Grafton sites, NSW Police and local youth outreach workers.
Everyone will have an opportunity to speak on the topic and help map a way forward to tackle the problem. Lunch will be provided.
