Within the guide, every state has been listed with the best experiences, best natural and man-made attractions, best kept-secrets and best city or town.
Out of every holiday spot across NSW the guide has listed South West Rocks as the best town to visit in the state.
Traveller writer Brian Johnson states, “NSW is the Goldilocks state of Australia: not too hot, not too cold, but just right. It has sun not cyclones, trundling wombats rather than crocodiles, warm winters and lazy summers,” Mr Johnson says
“Classic Aussie countryside unrolls and there are hundreds of kilometres of wave-scalloped coastline where beaches, national parks and headlands collide to provide surf-pounded scenery. You can snorkel and swim, fish and golf, up the ante and white-water raft or skydive.”
The Traveller guide then nominates NSW best kept secrets including best experiences, natural and man made attractions and best city or town with South West Rocks coming in at the top of the list.
“A quiet, slightly old fashioned beach town snoozing on the Mid North Coast just off the Pacific Highway, halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, South West Rocks is wonderfully free of concrete development and flanked by fine beaches, the Macleay River and national parks,” Traveller writer Brian Johnson said.
Included in the list, Louth Races was listed as the best experience, Lord Howe Island as the best attraction, the International Cricket Hall of Fame in Bowral as the best man-made attraction, and Muluerindie, a hand-built granite cottage in Warrabah National Park near Tamworth was nominated as the best kept secret.
