Burns, runner-up in the 2015 Australian Supersport series and multiple Australian and NSW junior dirt-track champion, signed with the factory backed Stoneline-Mayer Team Suzuki to race in the five round German Superstock 600 championship (plus two dedicated test sessions) starting at the famous Nurburgring on May 8.
He flew out of Australia two weeks ago and has since settled into his new home in the picturesque German town of Passau, Stoneline-Mayer Team Suzuki’s home base. The team has wasted no time getting down to business at testing this week with Burns getting used to the German GSX-R600 and learning a new circuit when he began testing at the Lausitzring this week.
In what was probably a first for Burns, testing was delayed for a day by snow. When he finally managed to hit the track he was turning some fast laps and learning how to work with his new team.
