Jenny has been painting for seven years under the guidance of tutors David Southgate and Rodney Andrews.
Having started out with pastels Jenny has branched out into oils and acrylics and has been experimenting in water colour.
She has also attended workshops with Queensland pastel artist, Louise Corke and renowned New Zealand pastel artist Maxine Thompson.
She has also attended watercolour workshops with Helen Goldsmith.
In 2012 Jenny received her first award, a highly commended in the Sawtell Art Group Annual Exhibition followed by first prize in the pastel section of the Coffs Harbour Annual Exhibition in 2013.
Jenny’s style is realistic and she enjoys painting a variety of subjects but is particularly inspired by the scenic diversity of our country with its unique colours and forms.
Hence the reason she has named her exhibition ‘A Reason to Look Outside’.
A morning tea to launch Jenny’s exhibition will be held at the Stringer Gallery from 10.30am on Wednesday 7th September.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free event at the Stringer Gallery, inside the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre next to the post office in Nambucca Heads.
