Not more than a few minutes later she was on the ground, grazed and bleeding from her head, wondering what had happened.
Judith says she felt herself going over and hitting the ground as a car passed her.
“It went past me slowly … it must have bumped my bike with its tyre – it was not going fast but it just kept on going,” Judith said.
Onlookers who rushed to help her said she went over the handlebars, landing on her right hand side and sliding on the roadside gravel.
The accident happened at 8.45am just near the Tilly Willy Bridge at Macskville. The car has been described as a medium sized 4WD, dark, maybe black, in colour.
Police are appealing to anyone who has any more information about the accident to contact either Macksville Police on 6583 01999 or Crime Stoppers 1300 333 000.
Detective Inspector Guy Flaherty reminded drivers that cars must leave 1.5 metres between themselves and cyclists when overtaking and encouraged cyclists to wear bright colours.
