The festival will include a line-up of feel good French favourites that are best enjoyed on the big screen, along with award winning new titles.
Films included by popular demand in the festival are the comedies “The Women on the Sixth Floor” (PG), which is an upstairs/downstairs comedy about the relationship between a well-to-do French family and their charismatic Spanish maids; and “The Guilded Cage” (M), in which a married couples attempts to retire to their homeland are derailed by their well-meaning family.
Also included is the new dramatic offering from Isabelle Huppert and Gerard Depardieu, who star as a couple coming to terms with love and loss in “The Valley of Love” (M). Of course, a French Film Festival must include romance, and cinemagoers will be treated to the witty drama-comedy “Rosalie Blum” (M), and the evocative tale of the courage required to pursue happiness in “La Belle Saison” (MA15+).
The opening night screening of “Rosalie Blum” on the 27th of October at 6:30pm will include champagne and nibbles prior to the film. Please call Sawtell cinema on (02) 5621 8101 or go to the Majestic Cinemas website www.majesticcinemas.com.au for more information.
