Highlanders club president, Peter Smith, said club members were thrilled to be contributing to this important initiative, which sees Kit Aid distributing old and new football kits, shirts, shorts, boots and socks to less fortunate people around the world.
“We have a range of old team shirts that we have replaced in recent years, but that are still in quite good condition,” Peter said.
“It’s great that these shirts will get a new lease on life, and bring joy to footballers in another country, instead of adding to landfill.
“Dorrigo Highlanders Football Club challenges other clubs in the North Coast Football zone to get behind this charity, or others like it, and send their excess football equipment to communities where it can be used.”
Anyone who would like to support Kit Aid can find them on Dorrigo Highlanders Football Club Facebook page, and donate to the shipping costs for their latest container of football goods.
