Macksville and Kempsey TAFE Campuses are opening their doors for public Information Days in November.
Everyone in the community can come along to get a feel for what it’s like to study through TAFE and explore the great range of courses and career choices.
“For the first time we’ll be bringing together all of the teaching staff on the one day to showcase the great variety of new courses and delivery modes on offer in the Nambucca and Macleay Valleys in 2017.”
“People can meet their teachers and other staff and students, have a look at the campus facilities and enjoy interactive activities and refreshments,” said Mark Whitehead, Leader Community and Business Engagement.
“We’re inviting people to come along and learn more about studying at TAFE, whether it’s on campus, online or through the workplace.”
“We’re also encouraging employers to come along and discuss their staff training needs. We’re excited to build on the success of some recent on-campus events that have been held at both Macksville and Kempsey,” said Mr Whitehead.
Kempsey TAFE recently celebrated Mental Health month with their annual Stress Less Day in October.
The community joined students and staff and had fun enjoying a barbeque, chocolate tasting, colouring in, massage, entertainment and line dancing.
Many local agencies also attended, giving everyone the opportunity to see what support was available in the community, particularly in the area of mental health.
In September, Macksville TAFE held an inaugural business networking event Links2Success, in conjunction with Nambucca Shire Council and the local Chambers.
Twenty-five business support organisations from NSW liaised with over fifty attendees interested in starting up or presently operating a small business or enterprise.
As a result of positive feedback from attendees, the event will now be held biannually from 2017.

A Links2Success Facebook page has also been established to continue collaboration between the attendees, TAFE and the local community.
“It’s important that TAFE plays a positive role in the local community and important for the local community to support its local TAFE.”
“There are so many different ways to study and because of this, an even wider range of choices to suit every individual. While our doors are always open, it’s great to have all the staff on campus at the same time, so we’re encouraging people to just come along and see for themselves,” said Mr Whitehead.
Information Days for 2017 will be held at Macksville TAFE Campus at 5- 9 West St, on Thursday November 24, from 2.30 pm- 6pm.
Kempsey TAFE Campus located at 58 Sea St, will hold their Information Day on Tuesday November 29 from 11 am- 6pm and everyone is welcome to attend to find out more about TAFE courses.
