Our purpose is to believe in our students; to light the candle of wonder inside each of them, feeding their flame with new ideas and possibilities, while guiding and supporting them so that no wind ever blows it out.
Kempsey South Public School is proud to hold this value dear. We have a reputation as a school that treats every student as an individual.
We know a quality education that prepares our students for a full and enriching life after school must focus on real-world learning tasks while incorporating our families and community.
By providing our students with the very best opportunities in our state-of-the-art learning facilities, our students exemplify our school motto, To Learn is to Grow.
As a Macleay Public School, we strive to ensure our students have access to the most productive learning environment.
Our programs are designed to ensure our students know how to succeed in the 21st Century by explicitly tailoring lessons to the individual learning needs of students.
Through this approach we are able to help our students not simply learn how to understand the content. We are able to teach our students how to think critically, how to analyse and apply understandings, and how to evaluate their own learning progress against their individual expectations.
Maximising our staff-to-student ratios is a fundamental priority in our school to further support your child in meeting their potential and your expectations. Having up to four educators in each infant’s classroom to support and individualise student learning is a facet of the program we are proud to offer.
In our quest to deliver real-world learning experiences your children will regularly access community partnerships. These projects are genuine pathways for our students to see and realise the true significance of a quality education.
Recently our students have benefited from both the Brospeak and GRIP leadership programs, a series of tutoring sessions by the renowned Circus Oz troupe, Dhalay Doctors Healthy Minds project and Hip Hop literacy with music icons Moorganics and Wire MC.
As a Macleay Public School, your child is exposed to a variety of fun and unique opportunities that only the Public Schools system can offer.
These include the Hastings-Macleay Public Schools STEM Day, Macleay Dance and Drama festivals, PSSA sports carnivals and the Macleay Debating and Chess tournaments to name just a few.
