The combined resources of Bellingen Valley Basketball Association and Coffs Harbour Basketball Association will conduct the Bronwyn Vigors Pacific Challenge Odd-Age Carnival at the Sportz Central Complex in Bray Street commencing Friday afternoon at 4-30pm then running all courts all day Saturday 8-00am until 9-00pm then Sunday 8-00am until the eight grand finals scheduled for mid-afternoon at Sportz Central.
Such is the avalanche of quality team entries from as far away as Sydney and South Queensland that the two excellent courts at Bishop Druitt College must also be used all day Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the massive number of games across the eight age groups under 17, under 15, under 13 and under 11 boys and girls.
Sunday afternoon 3-00pm and 4-00pm time slots at Sportz Central will see the best of the best regional junior team’s battle out their respective grand finals to collect their share of the $1800-00 worth of quality winners and runner up trophies.
Port Macquarie Dolphins junior basketball teams have provided their massive entry support along with strong teams from Taree, Grafton, Lismore, Byron Bay, Gloucester and Gilgandra.
From South Queensland a number of gun teams will soundly test the Northern NSW entries with Ipswich Force, Southern Districts Spartans and Mt Crosby making the trip down while from Sydney St George are bringing up their highly rated under 15 boys team with expectations of winning their grand final title.
The carnival organisers are determined to build on this annual junior tournament reputation by arranging the very best squad of experienced regional junior referees to officiate all games with senior referee assessors overseeing every contest.
