The initiative is for servicemen and women and their families, who are currently serving or have served in the ADF – including National Service and Permanent and Reserve Forces.
“We are hoping this event will encourage veterans and their families to talk about their experiences serving,” Nambucca Valley sub branch’s John Kent said.
Soldier On says nearly 15,000 men and women who have served will battle mental health issues as a result, and half will not seek support.
“We need to take the time to remember the returned and serving servicemen and women and the challenges and struggles they face on a daily basis,” John said.
“This day is about providing information and avenues for these men and women to seek support and know what services are there for them and their families.”
The day will start at 10am and run through until 2pm.
