Police are searching for a man after a stolen car was driven on the wrong side of the Pacific Highway during a police chase north of Frederickton on Thursday, March 9.

Police first observed the speeding vehicle, a beige 2009 model Toyota Prado, when it was travelling southbound on the Pacific Highway near Clybucca at about 5.30pm on Thursday.
Subsequent police investigations revealed the Prado had been stolen from a car yard on Smith Street, Kempsey, earlier that day.
A pursuit was commenced, but was called off by police shortly after due to the speed and manner that the pursued vehicle was doing.
This included the vehicle attempting to evade police by driving onto the other side of the highway, against the flow the of traffic.
A short time later the Prado was observed on the Pacific Highway south of Kempsey.

The vehicle was last seen turning off the highway into Kundabung and travelling along Kundabung Road.
The vehicle was then recovered on Sunday afternoon, March 12, at Wallsend, in Newcastle’s west.
Police are now searching for the driver of the vehicle.
He is believed to be 25-30 years old, with an olive complexion and about 178 centimetres tall with an athletic build.
He is believed to have a closely trimmed dark beard and dark hair and was last seen wearing military style long cargo pantos and a shirt with an orange stripe on it.
