The Julee Andrews Quartet, who have called this concert ‘Watercolours and Music’, will perform various pieces by Rachmaninoff, songs from the Musical ‘Les Miserables’ and pieces by Cécile Chaminade and Claude Bolling.
Julee is accompanied by Lena Shmalz and Keiko Robertson on piano and Gerard Larkins on the flute.
Julee and her quartet are waiving their fee with proceeds going to the Cancer Council. Julee’s brother, Rodney Andrews, died unexpectedly from cancer last September.
Rodney was one of the NVAC’s best artists as well as being an integral part of the NVAC. He took the NVAC art classes from February last year to August and in those short months imparted a huge amount of knowledge to his students.
The concert audience will be invited to view a retrospective of Rodney’s paintings which are on sale in the Gallery from beginning of May to mid June.
Again, proceeds from the sale of his paintings (some watercolour, others oil, acrylic or pastel) will be donated to the Cancer Council.
The concert will begin at 2.30 pm. Tickets at helloworld Travel in advance, or at the door. Members $15, non-members $20, children free.
Afternoon tea is included.
