Both the Northern Men’s and Ladies sides take on their counterparts in an all Saints affair on Field 2.
First up at 12.50pm are the Ladies teams, with the Amy O’Brien Green team taking on the KSFC White side coached by Abby Baker.
This should be a great match with KSFC Green possibly having the better of the results so far this season. White will have to shut down midfielder Chloe Rootes who showed her class at the Rocks earlier in the season with two brilliant individual goals.
Next up at 2.25pm is the Men’s derby. These two teams couldn’t be any more opposed. The Green machine full of experienced players across the park and veteran coach Luke Flanagan calling the shots. Flanagan has been on the sidelines for everything from junior fixtures through to Premier League Grand Finals and it could be his calls that make or break this game. The James Brady coached White team only has two players over the age of 19 and are still settling into positions and a lot of the players getting their first full season in the seniors.
Premier League takes on Tuncurry Tigers in what should be a cracker of a game. Saints still smarting from their FFA Cup loss to the Tigers in a penalty shootout should be better prepared for this one. Even though on full points after 3 rounds, Saints are still to build momentum with the bye in round 2 punctuating their season so far. Should be two tight games on Field 1 with Reserve Grade at 1.15pm and the top grade at 3pm.
Saints junior teams are now all kitted out and playing great football. Eden St has been picture perfect on Saturday mornings and looking like a sea of Green and White. Saints recently hosted a full day clinic for every coach and player. Advanced Football Centre was enlisted to deliver coach education and clinics for the different age groups.
Geoff Finch from AFC organised the program and was assisted by former Marconi and Socceroo striker David Lowe.
Although now in his early 50s, Lowe showed his class with sublime touches on the ball and still able to perform all the tricks needed at the top level. Both coaches were on the grounds from 10am to 6pm and gave the Saints club a great experience on the day.
