But first, a friendly reminder to anyone looking to make an application to council’s Community Support, Community Event Sponsorship or Placemaking funds that these close Friday 26 May.
Make sure you put your best foot forward as these funds are highly competitive. The panel is locked in and looking forward to seeing the types of programs, events and activities being proposed. If you are looking to apply, please don’t leave it to the last minute.
YOUTH
The Youth Opportunities program provides one-off, time-limited grants of up to $50,000 to organisations and local councils for youth-led and youth-driven community projects that have a positive youth development focus. There is a list of 2016 successful projects on their website so take a look if you would like to see the kinds of things previously funded. Funding is up to $50,000 and closes on 27 June.
ARTS
Screen NSW
Each year Screen NSW receives recurrent funding from the NSW Government in the budget for programs and operations. Screen NSW then allocates the program funding across its programs for that year. This can vary year on year dependent on a number of factors.
There is currently a number of programs open ranging from development, industry, production, travel, incentives etc.
Australia Council of the Arts
The Australia Council grants model supports a diverse range of artists, artistic practice, organisations and arts activity. Again, there are a bunch of programs currently open so take a peek.
Create NSW
Create NSW offers direct funding to organisations, artists, practitioners and arts and cultural workers through the Arts and Cultural Development Program (ACDP). The program funds everything from multi-year programs to one-off projects and professional development opportunities, across visual arts, museums and history, literature, performing arts, music and more. See link for individual programs and open/close dates.
Regional Arts NSW
The Country Arts Support Program opens on 26 May and closes on 27 June 2017. The aim of the Country Arts Support Program (CASP) is to support community arts and cultural development in regional NSW through small grants. Grants of up to either $3,000 or $5000 (depending on region) are available primarily for professional artists’ fees, travel and accommodation.
The Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund supports sustainable cultural development in regional and remote Australia and meets the strategic priorities of supporting participation in, and access to, the arts and encouraging greater private sector support for the arts. The Regional Arts Fund is designed to benefit regional and remote arts practitioners, arts workers, audiences and communities. This fund is due to open on 19 June and close on 10 August 2017. Programs funded in 2017 range from $9,000 to $28,000.
Multicultural NSW
Celebration grants are for events and festivals that celebrate our cultural diversity with funding available up to $5,000. These grants are due to open on 22 May and close 30 June 2017. There are 3 grant rounds each year. Multicultural NSW also has 4 other grant programs that open throughout the year.
Schools
Digital Literacy Schools grants of between $10,000 and $50,000 are available for schools and other organisations to encourage and facilitate implementation of the new Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies. Grants will be awarded for project proposals that demonstrate innovative methods for driving enhanced digital literacy in schools. The program is due to open by 30 June 2017.
The Eco Schools Program funds schools to assist with environmental learning opportunities for students, teachers and the school community with grants of up to $3,500. Eco Schools’ projects provide hands-on curriculum-based environmental education focussing on strong student participation. Grants close on 19 June 2017.
Environmental
Midcoast Waste Services Community fund is open to all community and school groups (early learning, primary and high school) in the MidCoast local government area and is aimed at increasing participation in not only waste management but sustainability in general.
