The Kempsey Cannonballs first grade side has won one of their opening three matches and coach Jared Fuller said this weekend’s grand final rematch against Hastings Valley Vikings is more about getting the competition points than revenge.

“It has been a while since we lost the grand final and we are all focused on what we want to achieve this season,” Fuller said.
“We are slipping off the pace and the competition is so close that another loss would hurt us.”
Fuller is wary of the Vikings’ forward pack but believes if they can lay a solid platform they will leave with a victory.
“They have a few big boys and if they get a roll on it is hard to stop their momentum,” he said.
“Hopefully we can have another solid defensive effort but also be more disciplined.”
A last second penalty cost the Cannonballs on Saturday as Grafton kicked a penalty goal after the siren for a 15-14 victory.
