They are really getting the hang of spreading out, defending and running the ball, with heaps of tries scored throughout the day. I hope all the boys are proud of their efforts.
The four twenty minute games meant that the team were pretty exhausted but happy by the end of the day. Good job guys..
Hope you took it easy on Sunday.

Under 8s
The Juggernaut that is the Bellingen-Dorrigo Under 8s continued this week at the Coffs Harbour Gala Day. Taking on Smithtown, Bowra Gold and Bowra Black. Having proved very tough competition in the past the boys and girls had to pull together and work as a team. There were so many great performances it made the games very easy to watch from the sideline.
Lachlan worked hard all day and made some fantastic runs to gain valuable meters, Savannah also chimed in with some great runs and came very close to scoring her first try only to fall just short. Seth and Harry had some great runs and made some crucial tackles.
Beau, Thalia and Lane all picked up their first try of the weekend and worked tirelessly in defence all day with Thalia coming up with a massive tackle to rattle the ball from the opposition. Deegan, Cooper and Mitch all picked up tries with Cash and Tyler bagging 3 each.
Tyler’s efforts saw him take home player of the week but it was truly a team effort and all 12 players should be very proud of their efforts.

Under 9s
The U9s were at Coffs this week for the Gala day and had three games the first against Kempsey with the boys playing well in a great game, the second was against Bowraville or should I say the "land of the giants" and the boys were certainly intimidated by the sheer size of the Bowra lads who steam-rolled up the field.
Although the magpies were gutsy in defence trying to contain them, a little rattled after the game coach Darrin Humphries gave the boys plenty of encouragement before our last game against Smithtown which was by far our best of the day with the lads working together in defence moving up and tackling great which was great to see.
Zac, Corey, Riley M made plenty of tackles and had some great runs as did Hullie and Jake who were both unlucky not to score, Lachlan was impressive having his best games of the year as he continues to grow in confidence, Finn was proving hard to stop with more determined strong running and tackling, Nick "Rabbit" was crafty out of dummy-half making plenty of burrowing runs, Charlie showed if you give him space he will make you pay with his speed, crossing the line for a Hat-trick for the day, while Riley H was rewarded with a try after some great quick hands for another tireless effort in defence.
Well done boys on another great day of footy.

Under 10s
The U10s made the small journey to Sawtell for an early start this week. The team had overcome sickness and injury to be near full strength.
Despite this the Magpies starting the game as in previous weeks with the opposition scoring easily. It didn't take long for the fella's to settle down and regain some composure.
Chad made some big hits in defence and Levi breaking the line for a 40m run up the sideline. The second half saw Beau continually trouble Sawtell's defence, with Callan always ready to take another run, he became to go to guy when play broke down. The Magpies unable to get points on the board, solid defence kept them in the game right to the end. Great game guys.
