Veterans’ Health Week will run from Saturday, 21 October, to Sunday, 29 October, with the theme of ‘physical activity’.
Ex-Service organisations and community groups with a link to the veteran community should apply for funding to support an activity that is relevant to the theme of physical activity.
“Regular exercise is important for our health and wellbeing and it’s also a great way to connect with people in the community and make new friends,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
“Veterans’ Health Week 2017 will highlight the importance of improving and maintaining good physical health.
“Our local ex-service organisations and community groups provide fantastic support to our veteran communities and I encourage them to apply for funding to support an event this year.
“Applications close on 31 July, 2017 so make sure you don’t miss this great opportunity to provide improved services for our region’s veterans.”
