The small but determined group of hospital volunteers launched into the new financial year, pledging to support the Dorrigo Multi Purpose Service and its patients.
The AGM resulted in Sandra McGuire being returned as president, Audrey Woodland returned as Treasurer and Nita McKnight returned as Secretary. Other office bearers elected were 1st Vice-president Rosalie Waker, 2nd Vice-president Jan Bennett, Assistant Secretary Fran Aylott, Assistant Treasurer Lynda Armstrong and Publicity Officer Shirley Freeman.
The meeting also recognised branch member Dawn Hinton who was presented with a certificate of service acknowledging 15 years as a UHA volunteer.
Mrs McGuire thanked the volunteers for their fundraising efforts throughout the year, which included street stalls, raffles and catering, and thanked the Dorrigo community for supporting each and every fundraiser.
The branch continues to save for a significant piece of medical equipment for the health campus, but also managed to donate $4000 in equipment, including a palliative care bed, during the year.
“We could not buy the much-needed equipment for the MPS without the help and support of the community,” Mrs McGuire said.
“Special thanks must go to IGA and Carolyn and Chris at Misty Threads for their ongoing support, the Dorrigo Rotary Club and all other clubs and organisations that support us, and to Bill Gilbert for auditing our books.”
