The Kempsey Saints first grade side’s season is hanging by a thread after their 1-1 draw against Wallis Lakes on Saturday. The top five sides advance to the finals series. Saints are in seventh position and seven points behind equal fourth placed Port United and Taree Wildcats. There are still nine competition points up for grabs over the final three rounds of the regular season but with Port United and the Wildcats guaranteed three competition points with respective bye rounds, they will move out of reach of the Saints. The Saints will be relying on Wallis Lakes to lose their final three games and for the Forster-Tuncurry Tigers to lose two of their matches. Saints also need to win their three matches.
