Fairfax Rural Events (FRE) has taken over management of the well-known ProAg Field Days at Macksville.
FRE group manager Kate Nugent said ProAg had become an institution over the past decade.
Kate said FRE will bring new expertise and contacts to ProAg through its already wide and well established relationships, with thousands of companies with an interest in marketing to the primary industry market.
FRE is Australia’s biggest, and among the most highly experienced field day operators, having run the giant Commonwealth Bank AgQuip field days in Gunnedah since 1995 and CRT FarmFest in Toowoomba since 2005.
They are also involved in staging and running field days and exhibition events all over Australia and New Zealand.
FRE is a Tamworth based division of Fairfax Media, publishers of The Macleay Argus, Mid-Coast Observer, Guardian News (Nambucca), The Land, Queensland Country Life and many other rural, regional and metropolitan publications such as the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.
ProAg is a signature event for Macksville and the agricultural landscape across the Nambucca Valley, Kempsey and Macleay Valley, Port Macquarie and Hastings Valley, Greater Taree, Bellinger Valley and Coffs Harbour.
Ms Nugent said FRE are committed to working in partnership with the region to deliver a successful sales primary industry event.
Ms Nugent said there had already been interest and she anticipated a significant range of agri and lifestyle products and services would be showcased.
ProAg will be staged over Friday and Saturday, November 3 and 4, at the Macksville Showground.
