It marked Levi’s first time stepping into the ring for an amateur bout but the 13-year-old wasn’t phased.
“He works really hard and you could see it pay off for him in the ring,” Levi’s trainer Adam Fathers said.
Levi earned the Golden Gloves on the back of two dominant performances.
He won by unanimous points decision in both matches, despite facing experienced fighters.
“I wasn’t surprised by his success,” Fathers said.
“He is very talented and is a good trainer, he continues to learn and develop each day.”
Levi has been training for nine months and began boxing after he found he was favouring his punching while he was competing in Karate.
The South West Rocks local is a fast learner and was able to predict the moves of his opponent in the ring.
“I could kind of predict the way the boxers fought after the first round, so I looked for every opening possible and tried to be the one throwing cleaner punches,” Levi said.
“My aim was to keep moving forward, hunt my opponent and take away their will to fight.”
Levi will be eligible to fight in NSW once he turns 14.
