The Bureau of Meteorology has issued warnings of possible severe thunderstorms, merging into super cells, across NSW today.
The Mid North Coast is in the zone for possible severe thunderstorms which could bring with it heavy rain and hail by Thursday afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 32 degrees in some parts of the Nambucca while there is a damaging wind warning in place for the Macquarie coast.
Winds will be from the north to northwest at 20 to 25 km/h shifting south to southeasterly 15 to 20kph in the early afternoon.
Swimmers are advised to stay out of the water during storm and lightning activity.
The State Emergency Service said residents need to take the appropriate timely precautions when storm and severe weather warnings are issued.
