The team, consisting of Hayley Jacob-Harju, Laura Hughes, Sonja Stone and Abbie Hazelwood travelled to Toormina to take on Grafton High in the North Coast final and convinced the adjudicator and audience that we should ban all sports that involve animals.
The girls qualified for the final by defeating two teams from Bellingen and Nambucca's own Year 8 team before moving on to the knockout stage of the competition.
A close win over Norfolk Island in a video-conference debate saw the team take on Toormina High in the semi-final where again their great teamwork saw them qualify for the final.
As North Coast champions, the team now travels to Sydney from November 29 for three days of debating against regional teams that will see a State champion crowned.
