The seniors got to sit at the table of honour in a room full of their family and friends at the Nambucca Heads RSL Club.
After a massive year with incredible achievements, the tight-knit cohort deserved to be honoured.
Head teacher of wellbeing, Ms Eve Riches, said that of the sixteen seniors graduating tonight, eight of them had already been offered places in higher education institutions.
Acting principal David Taylor and Ms Riches handed out academic awards to the high achievers, with one young lady, Megan Johnstone, receiving a special ovation.
Megan has been approached to show some of her textiles handiwork at an exhibition down in Sydney.
After dinner, students were returned letters they had written to themselves 12 months ago as they were just starting out on their final year of school.
Congratulations, class of 2017.
We, at Guardian News, believe you’ll go on to do great things.
