Celebrating 50 years ago
In 1967 the community of Kempsey celebrated the 50th anniversary of the railway coming to the town.
A highlight of the celebrations was the arrival of a two-engine, four-carriage vintage train that had collected passengers at Telegraph Point. Over 2000 spectators were at the Kempsey Railway Station to greet the historic train. Many of the spectators were also in period dress adding to the occasion.
Be there on Sunday to take part in the 100 years celebrations with the local community, the markets will be on from 9am-3pm with the highlight of the day sure to be the Tin Hare train rides.
