This run has been a successful annual event for the club for some years. Each year a sizable donation is made to the Salvation Army in the form of food stuff, toys and money so that they can help disadvantaged families in the area during the festive season. It is an event all the club members are proud to be part of and many of the participating riders’ glam up their bikes with tinsel and other Christmas baubles to really get into seasonal mode.
Santa will travel in a side car via Smithtown and Gladstone before going down Sea Street in Kempsey. Kids, if you get out on the side of the road and give Santa a wave he’ll be a happy man. He will stop regularly on route when the sweet bags will be distributed.
If you’d like to donate food or toys there are several collection points. They are at Tumbledown Bakery in West Kempsey, Col’s Bike Shop Kempsey, the General Store on Sea Street in Kempsey, Smithtown Take-away, Macleay River Hotel in Frederickton, South West Rocks Country Club, Gladstone Swimming Pool, the Mini Market in South Kempsey as well as Kundabung BP.
Contributions will be gratefully accepted though if you’re donating toys they have to be new, not used, as per the latest Salvation Army regulations.
