And with a low-key but heart-warming opening on Thursday evening, Sydney entrepreneur and owner Aurora Parkhill has planted her flag back firmly in Nambuccan soil.
She is here to stay.
“I think Nambucca was ready for this,” Aurora said.
“When my mum opened up Dawn’s Divas four years ago, everyone told her that it wouldn’t last six months,” Aurora said.
“But her business is living proof that the area is ready for change.”
And this building was crying out for something to be done with it.
Galleria Eat Shop Relax is two stories of cafe, clothing and homewares, and natural therapies built into the old Guardian News shopfront.
Around 50 guests toasted the official opening of the Galleria concept store with wine and canapes while marveling at the oxygen tank and infra-red sauna upstairs.
The crowd was entertained by local musical legend Xanthe Littlemore who has supported the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Paul Kelly.

The whole affair brought a distinct air of sophistication to the main street of Nambucca Heads.
With a live entertainment courtyard still on the cards for the disused space beside the cornerstore, Nambucca Heads is starting to get an inkling of post-bypass confidence.
